Staying in Windhoek I dropped Michelle off at the airport, met Dylan who had flown up and then picked up my single client Bob for his 16 day – 3 Country experience.
Bob had decided on a combination of camping and lodging accommodation.
From Day 1 we threw Bob into the deep end – with no prior gravel experience and riding a big BMW ADV he did fantastically on the dirt.
With his particular interest being wildlife, we headed through Damaraland and then up to Etosha for 2 days. The waterhole didn’t disappoint with sightings of Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe and lots of smaller antelope.
Further North to Rundu and then along the Caprivi strip and eventually Kasane and the Chobe reserve. En-route we were already treated by fantastic elephant encounters – something that became the norm over the next few days.
A visit here is never complete without the incredible Chobe River Cruise and a visit to Zimbabwe and the mighty Victoria Falls.
Its here that Dylan noticed a problem with the 2 x bike front tyres – they were showing unusual and very concerning splits and so we used the days in Kasane to source a new tyre and replace the other with a used one we had with us.
From Kasane we headed South, arriving back in Johannesburg after 16 days of great riding and very few issues.
Thank you, Bob, – it was an absolute pleasure and hope you will be back!!
