We just finished a three country, 5000 km ride with Darrell and Gillie and had the trip of a lifetime. Darrell is a great guide – he has an encyclopedic knowledge of the countryside, the roads, and the sights. If you ask, he will give you his opinion on everything from routes to food to side-excursions to see game or the sights, but he makes it very clear that the decision was ultimately ours to make.
I was impressed with how hard Darrell and Gillie worked throughout the trip to make sure that things ran smoothly for the tour. They were up and ready to go early every morning and were busy making sure that the bikes and breakfast were ready so that we could get on the road promptly, and at the end of the day they were equally busy making sure that the evenings’ food and accommodations were on track.
The logistics went off without a hitch, and the trip was fabulous. After three weeks on the road, we were ready to get home but were sad to part with Darrell and Gillie.

A friend and I engaged with GS Adventures for a four-week, 5000 km trip through western South Africa, up the Namibia coast, across the Caprivi Strip to Kasane and Victoria Falls, and down into Botswana to Gaborone.
We were impressed with the level of communication and attention to detail as we worked with Darrell to plan our trip.
As relatively inexperienced off-road riders, we relied heavily on guidance from GS Adventures to design a trip that would challenge us but not put us in way over our heads. We received a personalized experience and not a "canned," inflexible tour.
The trip was an incredible lifetime experience from start to finish. Choices of lodges and campsites (we did a mix) were excellent, and the support and guidance from GS Adventures were consistently strong. We also rented our motorcycles directly from GS Adventures. The BMW 1200 GS bikes were in terrific condition and performed flawlessly day after dusty day.
We came home full of memories, and we hope to work with GS Adventures again.
